We all have that go-to article of clothing. Regardless of how heavy our closet sits, there will always be one or maybe even two pieces we reach for more than anything else. What is it that brings us swinging back to these favorites?!
Maybe you spent an entire week trying to talk yourself into splurging on this special piece. Or better yet, someone special to you went out of their way to get that perfect skirt, or humorous tee, and you just love it! Maybe you keep going back to it, because of the way it makes you feel when you slip into that one and only. Whatever the reason may be, the rest of your wardrobe will always take a back seat to this slice of  pretty perfection!
A few years back I purchased a deliciously lightweight cotton tee. V-neck , with a mini pocket on the left side. I loved it so much, that I decided I must have it in blue, mocha, and soft grey. Everyday, I would reach into my top drawer, search around for what to wear. And everyday, I wouldn’t be able to resist the calling of one of my sexy v-neck tees. I could accessorize with a flashy bag, and some flats. Or just leave my tee to be free with a pair of curvy jeans. Either way, we were practically inseparable. Thank goodness for washing machines!
Now that my favorite blue tee has taken refuge in some gal’s closet, and the other two colors look like overused dish towels….I am on the hunt for my new best dress. Right now, all the hangers are going through an equal rights movement.
So what’s your favorite article of clothing, beautiful ladies? Did it come wrapped in ribbons and bows? Bank Breaker? Or did you two fall in love over time?

(There’s so much that can be done with a simple tee!)

It’s T-shirt Time

Plus Size V-Neck T-Shirts in Ocean
Brand: swakdesigns

While it still may feel a little chilly outside, the temperatures are warming up so we thought it would be fun to talk about our warmer weather favorite plus size t-shirts. Have a favorite tee? I know you do because we can’t live without them. Let’s see there are.. short sleeves, long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, polos, tank tops, v-necks and oh yes.. let’s not forget t-shirt dresses.  Tees are great as layering pieces or just on their own- it’s up to you to get creative.

When I’m shopping for a tee, there are characteristics that I’m aiming for. How soft is the fabric? How much will it shrink? What’s the length of the tee? And of course, the price tag completes the grocery list of wants.

Softness. We all adore the feel of it. When my skin is comfortably snug inside a cushy white bath robe it’s pure delight. When I’m looking for a plus size t-shirt, I want to feel a high level of softness and comfort. Ever get that itchy feeling when you try on a t-shirt? Push the reject button on that.

If your t-shirt is 100% cotton (which is preferred) it will shrink, as all cotton does simply by washing it in any temperature. Rule of thumb, darker colors- use cold water, brighter colors best to wash in warmer water and for white use hot water. Do a little test- measure the t-shirt before and after washing. You may notice a slight difference at the arm, width and length areas. If you notice too much of a difference then you are the proud owner of a new wash cloth. It happens a lot in my house.

Today, plus size t-shirt lengths vary quite a bit, it hasn’t always been this way. We have even highlighted on video a plus size asymmetrical t-shirt length that is stylishly fashion forward.  Starting at 26 inches all the way down to 32 inches and longer, you’ll find the right length to fit any occasion.  I lean toward the 26 inch length because I don’t mind showing off my “lower” curves.  But plus size tunics are ultimate favorites as well.

T-shirt sales are plentiful.  I’ve noticed stock up and save t-shirt deals occur frequently.  When you see a tee sale, jump on it because you’ll never have enough of the core staple of all wardrobes- the t-shirt.
