It has recently been told that Mister Marc Jacobs himself, is popping up with a plus size fashion line. In the midst of Fall shopping, I automatically went into a day dream comatose when I heard the word. My fandom crossed all sorts of double yellow lines. I saw myself stooped outside his New York doorstep. Hot chocolate in one hand. My life savings in the other. All the while freezing to death as I wait for the gem of all winter dream coats.

Then I slapped myself out of it.

See…there are some “knock em’ dead” trends for every season. Then there are the necessities. Then there is…thee coat!

If done correctly, your Fall-Winter coat is that swirl of frosting on top of one perfect outfit. Like being wrapped in a warm, fuzzy cloud, with delicious written all over it.

As much as I would fully commit to saving myself for anything plus size from Marc Jacobs…I think it’s wise to pick up a cozy new coat for the chills to come. Plus, there are some seriously funky and fun coat trends this season!

Leather! This Fall, it is the hottest trend among jackets and coats. Definitely turning heads. Especially when worn the right way! Wear it right above your hips, to make those curves pop. Or wear it long. Think leather trench coat. Any plus size jacket can be worn at mid-hip length. As long as the coat tapers at your waist, still defining your shape.

Bold colors have made their entrance, and I have yet to see a bon voyage on the horizon. Just make sure to sport colors that flatter your skin tone, and your mood!

At ease, miss!

Every year military jackets are hot, hot, hot. This run around, you are bound to ditch the soldier, and just run away with the coat. 

The long. The mod. And neutral enough for every outfit…ta da! My favorite coat this year!

We all have guilty pleasures. There is no denying that!

Seeing as I’m home bound these days, getting life in order for a two month train trip all about the West coast. I’ve found a little freedom from thought inside the world of my Netflix queue. Lately, my guilty pleasure has been all wrapped up in this t.v. show called, “Drop Dead Diva.” A very girly, a very silly show, that I wouldn’t normally indulge in. Yet, I am hooked on the main character, “Jane Bingum,” and her style!  A fierce plus size woman, that incorporates classic career wear with eye popping accessories and does it oh, so, very well.

Jane, like myself, knows a good thing when she sees it. The figure flattering sheath dress in plus sizes, doesn’t fall short of that list. A major must have trend for Fall 2011!  Sheath dresses are made with the hour glass figure in mind, but don’t let that deter you. I just love this dress when paired with a belt, to bring attention to all different shaped waists.

There is one rule in the fashion of our lives. Never say never to something you love! Instead, find a way to tweak it so it works for you, and then flaunt it! Anything is possible with a little creativity.

That’s the fun part with this dress trend. You can take a well cut plus size sheath dress, and either wear it alone, or stir up your look with a neutral jacket or cardigan, an smaller purse,  maybe a clutch. Then  dazzle your way up with a few jewels. Wa-la!

This slimming dress is one of those crucial pieces in any plus size woman’s wardrobe. When you’re feeling classic, you can snatch a vintage clutch and some pearls, keeping it simple! Dinner party, the office, a work function, girl’s night out. I just love how versatile this plus size fashion favorite is! I actually picked up my own sheath dress recently. No way could I resist slipping into it for a few photos. This one’s a keeper!

I don’t know if any of y’all live in the Northeast and have been experiencing Snowpocalypse of 2010, but it has been crazy. Not only is it unbelievably cold, when you walk outside the wind and snow feel like rocks are pounding into you. And to top it all off the transportation hasn’t been working, so I have been spending a lot of time locked up in my apartment. I have severe case of cabin fever…

In order to pass time, I have been extremely productive (aka watching hours and hours of Gossip Girls). I also decided it would probably be a good time to shop for a warmer plus size winter coat.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! And even more importantly…I hope everyone found some great Black Friday bargains. I know I sure did.

All Fall, I have had my heart set on a new leather jacket, and I decided that it was an investment piece, so I was willing to pay a pretty penny for it.

After all the searching, I found the perfect jacket at New York & Co. AND it was on sale, so that makes everything 100x better.

While the the jacket is faux leather, it looks and feels real, so PETA would be proud.

Ever since I worked for Kelly Cutrone, her style has definitely rubbed off on me. I used to need all my clothes to be frilly and girly, but not anymore. I like mixing the two styles, and this plus size leather motorcycle jacket can definitely add edge to any outfit. I love the hardware on the jacket.

When I first bought the jacket, I didn’t even realize that the sleeves can zip off to make a vest! HOW COOL! Now I have something to wear, when I want to channel my inner Hell’s Angel. Sometimes clothes that turn into different pieces can look cheap, but the zippers are very well hidden.

When I took off the sleeves, I kept trying to put them back on for 30 mins, and then I realized I had been putting the wrong sleeve on each arm…I am so smart.
