It has recently been told that Mister Marc Jacobs himself, is popping up with a plus size fashion line. In the midst of Fall shopping, I automatically went into a day dream comatose when I heard the word. My fandom crossed all sorts of double yellow lines. I saw myself stooped outside his New York doorstep. Hot chocolate in one hand. My life savings in the other. All the while freezing to death as I wait for the gem of all winter dream coats.

Then I slapped myself out of it.

See…there are some “knock em’ dead” trends for every season. Then there are the necessities. Then there is…thee coat!

If done correctly, your Fall-Winter coat is that swirl of frosting on top of one perfect outfit. Like being wrapped in a warm, fuzzy cloud, with delicious written all over it.

As much as I would fully commit to saving myself for anything plus size from Marc Jacobs…I think it’s wise to pick up a cozy new coat for the chills to come. Plus, there are some seriously funky and fun coat trends this season!

Leather! This Fall, it is the hottest trend among jackets and coats. Definitely turning heads. Especially when worn the right way! Wear it right above your hips, to make those curves pop. Or wear it long. Think leather trench coat. Any plus size jacket can be worn at mid-hip length. As long as the coat tapers at your waist, still defining your shape.

Bold colors have made their entrance, and I have yet to see a bon voyage on the horizon. Just make sure to sport colors that flatter your skin tone, and your mood!

At ease, miss!

Every year military jackets are hot, hot, hot. This run around, you are bound to ditch the soldier, and just run away with the coat. 

The long. The mod. And neutral enough for every outfit…ta da! My favorite coat this year!

A must have!

Hello Hollywood Glam! You’ve caught my affection, and I’m imagining that this will be a never ending love affair.

I’ve been swooped into a swoony bit of obsession for the 1930’s to 1940’s, and everything to do with the leading ladies of the time. I keep catching myself practically gawking through the big screen at the beauty and elegance, but mostly their stunning way of dress.

There is something so classy in how  these women will grace a room, embellished with glistening jewels, and then glide towards the camera, swaying in a floor length satin gown.  Stealing the moment of an entire audience, eyes swollen in awe.

Absolutely breathtaking.

A classic style, that rested on the idea of highlighting the alluring curves of a gal’s body.  The sorts of ideology that I’m sure all of us plus size women wouldn’t mind seeing reappear.

Through the years though, our daily attire has transitioned into more casual frocks to accommodate our pratical lifestyles. Yet, there are still those times that call for an extravagant gown, with sparkling accessories, and hair that would impress any Hollywood hair stylist!

Hmm….I’m thinking it’s time to slip into a sensual gown for a wedding, perhaps? Or a magical evening with a swanky social event. Maybe an awards show party with your friends, where you all dress up as your favorite starlett. I’m personally hoping a glamorous night of cocktails, a quellazaire in hand, and sassy chats will actualize sometime very soon!

I really wouldn’t mind any excuse to dress up in a sexy evening gown and go all out. Thank the fashion world that nowadays, plus size gowns are still chic and comfortable. No more corsets and petticoats, ladies.

Oh sweet summer! How you make me swoon for polka dots, and bustiers, and big squishy hats, and everything 1950′s!

And well, frankly, the 50′s have already mastered the art which I deem “curve cradling.” Said from many experiences spent behind this computer screen, fawning over gorgeous pinups like Betty Grable, (the hourglass that was) Mae West, and my personal favorite, Bettie Page.

Really though, if it weren’t for those perfectly tailored swimsuits of the 50′s, I don’t think I’d be crushin’ so madly on an era set way before my time.

The way the molded bustier top pumps up even the smaller chested women, like myself . How the bodice looks like it was a mathematics problem, gone terribly right. Falling spot-on where  the hips have a meeting with the torso, creating an extra curvy waist.

Ahhh! Absolutely To die for!

I, myself, have been prowling department stores, thrift stores, internet stores, friends closets….looking for my 100 percent perfect piece of retro swimsuit goodness!
